I write books that help people understand their dogs, strengthen their relationships, and navigate behavior with clarity and confidence. My work blends practical guidance, owner psychology, and real‑world experience to give dog parents the tools they need to succeed.
Before writing full‑time, I spent years working with dogs and their owners, helping them decode behavior, build trust, and create calmer, more connected homes. That experience shaped the foundation of Dog Parents Press, my imprint dedicated to humane, practical, relationship‑based guidance.

Fifty years ago, I carried a rifle and wore combat boots in the Marine Corps. Service shouldn’t end when you take off the uniform — and we don’t leave the vulnerable behind. Today, that mission continues through my work with abandoned dogs and through The Daily Mercy Mission, my effort to support the dogs who have been discarded in the California deserts.
In 2026, I will climb San Gorgonio Mountain, the highest peak in Southern California, to raise awareness for these forgotten dogs — the ones who were thrown away, the ones who survived, and the ones still waiting. The climb is a symbolic reminder that compassion is an action, not an idea, and that every life left behind deserves to be seen.

I also write under Jake Bradley Press, a creative imprint focused on books that educate, entertain, and help people grow in their everyday lives — strengthening individuals, leaders, and communities. These books reflect my broader interest in personal development, storytelling, and the quiet ways people change their own lives. Whether I’m writing about dogs or people, my goal is the same: to create books that make life better, clearer, and more meaningful.
